EJs' personal journey is reflected by his lifelong love of music, and the technical intricacies of sound. His precocious talent began to manifest at age two. EJ astonished his parents with his ability to sing, direct the choir, hold drumsticks and keep a steady beat. His love for playing drums, however, made the percussive instrument his musical choice. By the time EJ turned ten, he had perfected his craft and was playing drums for his fathers' (Bishop Henry Porter) church and for musical groups in the Sarasota community.

At age thirteen, EJ traveled extensively throughout the United States, Kenya, Nigeria, London, Rome and Ghana with his father as a professional percussionist. He has also appeared on both television and radio. While in High School, (The Westcoast School for Human Development, started by his parents, Dr. Henry and Cynthia Porter), he began learning about midi operations, how to sequence music, and some basic music theory and music publishing from his music teacher and music business mentor, Dr. Mariea Watkins. While attending Florida International University in Miami, Florida, EJ had the pleasure of touring and working with artists: Trick Daddy Dollar, P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Juvenile, Faith Evans, Anthony Hamilton, T.I., Brain McKnight, B2k, Ray J, Marques Houston, Teresa, Talib Kweli, Omarion, Mase, 112, Music World Music (Destiny's Child), George Clinton, Lil' Wayne, 50 cent, Nicole Wray and Fat Joe. Gospel artists include: The HLP Love Campaign, Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorothy Norwood, Andre Crouch, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kierra Sheard, Lonnie Hunter, Albertina Walker, DeWayne Harvey, Kirk Franklin, and Walter Hawkins. The influences of Dr. Henry Porter (his father), P. Diddy, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Riley, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, The Police, Stevie Wonder, and Quincy Jones greatly inspired EJs' talent.

During the early nineties, when EJs' friends would run home to listen to the popular music of the day, he desired more. He studied and listened to Gospel, Pop, Rock, R&B, Hip Hop, some Classical and Jazz. He began arranging music, writing songs, organizing his team and forming Drummerboy Productions.

In 1998, He produced the title track, "I'll Tell Ya How I Feel" for developing artist Margaret Clark on Jewelstone Records. The song was added to more than 26 stations in US markets, and received a good review from Starfleet record pool, during the test-marketing period. In 1999, EJ produced "Together" and "Happy" for new artist "Chadwick". The project received major spins and some press reviews in London, UK. Later that year, EJ worked with Dr. Watkins to help put together "Keep Making Tracks", a live gospel project with The Westcoast Gospel Chorus of Florida. In 2000, He also worked with Dr. Watkins, co-producing another live Gospel recording. Since 2002, EJ has worked as a Production Assistant for the Diversity Awards, founded by Jarvee Hutcherson of the Multi-cultural Motion Picture Association in Hollywood, CA. And in 2003 he came on board as a Production Assistant for the A.S.Y.M. (American Society of Young Musicians), and the Multi-cultural Motion Picture Association, where he works side by side with Jarvee Hutcherson as Assistant to the Executives Director. November 2005, EJ was promoted to Associate Producer of The Diversity Awards. He has also worked as an engineer for Piston Sounds for both secular and Gospel artist concerts. In 2003, EJ and Drummerboy Productions was honored as "Top 20 Producers" at the 2003 "Listen and Exchange" presented by Entertainment Attorney Dedra Davis. His musical talents then caught the ear of Sony/Epic A&R Executive Joe Cerini, which further allowed his talents to grow in the music industry. In May, 2003, EJ (Drummerboy Entertainment) & his friend Chadwick (Carter Henry Enterprise) presented "The Florida Music Industry Showcase". This showcase was well attended by industry executives: Attorney Dedra Davis, Joe Cerini, Mariea Watkins, London Williams, and Jarvee Hutcherson, who are representatives from Sony, Epic, Worldwide Ent., Interscope, Jewelstone, and Fox Network. In June, 2003, EJ and Drummerboy Entertainment served as technical director, and worked with Dr. Mariea Watkins in presenting the Gospel Awards, which raises the awareness of cancer and honors the outstanding contributions of national choirs, musicians, and directors in radio, recordings, television, film, the community and the world.

EJ diligently works to continue perfecting his skills. He believes he has a lot to offer. In an industry where commercial concerns and trends all too often dictate what music is produced, EJ has been blessed with the gift to know what drives a musical piece. Add to that his ability to make friends, his outgoing personality and his kind manner; it makes him extraordinary! His goal is to bring in a new style of music to audiences around the world. EJ desires to work with established, new and developing artist. And while working in the entertainment industry also produce & present events for youth to gain knowledge in the area of entertainment.

Professional organizations and membership include: Voting Member of The Recording Academy, BMI, Assistant to the Executive Director & Associate Producer (Multi cultural Motion Picture Association) and ASYM (The American Society of Young Musicians), Board Member, H.L.P.E.A, Inc.

There is a famous Christmas Carol that depicts the story of the little drummer boy who had nothing to offer but his song. That song, brought peace to the world. This drummer boy offers the world a gift as well, and that gift is his music.
